ANU School of History Students learning 'in the field'
Thursday 18 October 2018

Students currently studying the ‘War and Society’ course recently went on an excursion to Melbourne and visited some significant memorials.

“The Shrine is something of a Melbourne landmark and  the best part was the Turkish Friendship Memorial - Hugo Throssell's anti war sentiments and Gallipoli epitaphs inscribed on the same. It is a fascinating instance of dialogical memorialisation with the shrine itself and the students responded to the memorial in diverse and engaging ways” – Professor Bruce Scates

Our thanks go to our students and to Professor Bruce Scates from ANU School of History for organising such a successful study trip.
